Post-2024 report on the EU Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities

The discussion continues at the European Parliament’s Committee on Employment and Social Affairs (EMPL) on the post-2024 draft report on the EU Strategy for the rights of persons with disabilities. Some of the 335 amendments recently released underscore the physical, mental, and social advantages of sports for people with disabilities. They stress the importance of sport in advancing health, social integration, and equal participation at all levels, from grassroots to elite. Finally, they encourage the Commission and Member States to foster adapted sports by developing inclusive infrastructures, supporting the training of staff, and providing access to both recreational and competitive events.
