Post-2025 EU Gender Equality Strategy

By the end of July, ENGSO EWS will submit its contribution to the open consultation on the new EU Gender Equality Strategy (2026-3030). Please contact us if you would like to know more or submit your own feedback to the European Commission ([email protected]).

On June 25, the European Commission unveiled its 2025 Gender Equality Report to the European Parliament’s FEMM Committee (Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality), outlining major advances and ongoing concerns. Landmark steps include the EU’s inaugural directive targeting violence against women, expanded legal protections against online abuse, and stronger roles for national equality institutions.

Looking ahead, ENGSO EWS would like sport to be included as a key area for equality in the new strategy. The Commission also emphasized that intersectionality, demographic changes, and the rise of anti-gender rhetoric will shape its upcoming agenda.
