On 17 October 2025, the Council of the EU’s Working Party on Sport, chaired under the Danish Presidency, met to discuss key priorities in the field of European sport. The agenda included presentations and exchanges of views on the Council of Europe Convention on the Manipulation of Sports Competitions (Macolin Convention), underscoring ongoing efforts to combat match-fixing and uphold integrity in sport. Participants also reviewed recent developments in addressing the manipulation of sports competitions, as well as the coordination and representation of EU Member States within the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Foundation Board.

The discussions demonstrated a shared political commitment to strengthening legal frameworks and enhancing cooperation at the European level to prevent and address criminal activities affecting sport integrity.
